What a great place! Food was cooked fresh, restaurant is small but extremely clean, prices are very reasonable for this quality food. I had the black sheep sampler plate which had pierogi- I come from a boil only family and tried their fried which were perfectly not over done! Smoked Polish sausage that was perfectly cooked and quite delicious, sauerkraut which was wonderfully tangy and a potato pancake, wonderfully seasoned and brown to perfection. Pazcki for dessert was good, I had apricot and it could have used more filling but was still yummy! I cannot wait to try more of the menu!

We were looking for something new in the area and discovered this on Google. Settled in a strip mall, Black Sheep is unassuming. We walked in and the interior is appropriately decorated with an Eastern European/Polish aesthetic (baskets, wildflowers, natural wood, etc.) Take a look at the menu board, place the order with the cashier (very helpful and friendly), take a seat and wait. While you're waiting, get a good sniff of the smoked polish sausage to whet your appetite. The food will satisfy any Polish food hankerings you might have: Hand-made pierogis, freshly made potato pancakes, and grilled sausages are worth waiting for. I chose the Polski Kociolek, a honest, hearty cabbage stew with onion, sausage and potato. All their dishes spiced well, giving the right amount of flavor without being overbearing. After you eat, be sure to clear your table and deposit the dishes in the basket by the door. Be sure to grab a Paczki on the way out!

When we come back to IL, we love to have Polish food. Our experience at Black Sheep was amazing. Marta was warm and welcoming when we walked in. The decor and atmosphere are beautiful. We had potato pancakes, pierogi sampler, polish sausage and the smash burger. Everything was flavorful and delicious. This is a great spot!

Weβve been wanting to try this place since they opened, and it was absolutely worth the wait β and all the failed attempts(on my part) to finally make it here! This is easily one of the coziest restaurants Iβve ever eaten at. The decor is adorable and gives such a warm, homey feeling. The service was fantastic too β everyone was so friendly and welcoming with smiles all around. The entire restaurant was spotless, and the food was absolutely amazing. Weβll definitely be back!

Wow! This place has really great food! I have to say I was very impressed with this place. The pierogis are DELICIOUS and the borscht tastes like something out of grandmas kitchen. The people who work here are very nice, and itβs a very cozy and inviting atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back here!
